Dr. Stephanie A. Herrera, DBA

Dr. Stephanie A. Herrera is the President of SAH & Associates, Inc. and an Affiliate Faculty member at the Metropolitan State University of Denver College of Business.

She co-authored the book “Hispanic Entrepreneurship Training Program Colleges, Universities and Hispanic Chambers of Commerce Working to Fast Track Hispanics into Business.”

Dr. Herrera brings more than 25 years of strategic business development experience in nonprofits and membership organizations, as well as a lifetime of experience and passion for education and leadership development. She was the Founding Executive Director of the Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC) Foundation.

As the former Chief Operations Officer of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, she helped strengthen the overall operations, which allowed the organization to have a greater impact in the Hispanic communities across the United States. Dr. Herrera was the Executive Director of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), and held one of the best professional development conferences for over 2000 sustainability professionals across the globe. The 2014 annual conference was the largest in AASHE’s history. She was also the keynote speaker at the International Symposium for the Establishment of Sustainable Campuses at Kyoto University in Kyoto, Japan.

As the Foundation Director of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) Foundation, Dr. Herrera increased the number of members and chapters across the U.S. and developed educational programming, orientations and leadership training programs. She created evaluations for members that exposed them to advocacy, STEM, higher education, and economic development principles to enhance their business acumen and leadership potential. She also co-created the mentorship program. She founded and was President and CEO of the United States Hispanic Jr Chamber of Commerce.

Herrera received the 2009 Un Orgullo Hispano Award by the Procurement Institute of the Americas, the 2002 Minority Small Business Advocate of the Year award from the U.S. Small Business Administration in Colorado, and recognized twice by the United States Congressional Record for her leadership in the community.

Herrera holds a BA in International Business Management, an MBA in Market Strategy from Regis University and a DBA in Business Administration.
